The seed for this work was the sad beauty in a newspaper photograph of rubble.  I saw lovely, delicate shapes in what was left of some bombed out houses.  It was beauty created by an awful intervention, unsettling but mesmerizing, filled with remnants of the lives lived there.  This started an exploration of the ephemeral nature of place and of memory.
